In a setback for the Midmar Waterworks, operations have come to a halt due to a malfunction in a crucial chlorine evaporator, affecting 3 municipalities including eThekwini Municipality.
Immediate action is being taken by the dedicated team to address and rectify the breakdown promptly.

The impact of this disruption extends to several bulk reservoirs that play a vital role in supplying water to the eThekwini Metro, uMngungundlovu District, and Msunduzi Local Municipality.
Among the affected reservoirs are Groenkloof, Howick, Howick West, Vulindlela, Mpophomeni, Richmond, Worldsview, HD Hill, Umlaas Rd, Umbumbulu, and Eston.

Residents in the affected areas, including Umbumbulu, Adams Mission, KwaXimba, Cato Ridge, Georgedale, Hammersdale, Mpumalanga, Mlaba Village, Drummond, Cliffdale, Skhelekehleni, Inchanga, Isithumba, Hillcrest, Kwanyuswa, Bothas Hill, Kloof, New Germany, Westmead, Tshelimnyama, and KwaNdengezi, are urged to bear with us as we diligently work towards restoring the water supply.
