“Creating a coloring book empire and inspiring Black Women along the way”
Nationwide — Latoya Nicole, the esteemed best-selling author and creative entrepreneur could have stopped at making history by selling 60,000 books and creating her line of skin-tone colored pencils for Black women. After all, being a leading Black woman-owned coloring book and supplies business aiming to help women increase mental wellness and reduce anxiety is very much needed during these times. But, she has stayed true to giving back and inspiring women and she’s doing just that now by teaching others to self-publish and sell their books online.
Along with her bestseller Exhale Self Care Coloring Book and her other 8 books that she has authored, Latoya’s efforts to advocate for representation also include her work as a self-publishing coach. “When I started publishing in 2018, only 11% of books published were written by people of color, and Black authors only made up a fraction of that percentage, according to the New York Times. I was and am determined to change the narrative and I hope my story will inspire people to not only think big, but to also know that you can create passive income and freedom for yourself,” she said.
Latoya plans to kick off 2024 with big plans; leading her signature program Book Bag University: A Roadmap to Establish and Expand Your Author Brand. The program walks authors and aspiring authors through the marketing process of selling books online from beginning to end. “I will literally walk you through the entire process that I have used publishing on Amazon and beyond— from putting together your bestselling book to helping you build your author business and sell more books, says Latoya.” But, if you’re new to self-publishing you can start by subscribing to and watching her YouTube channel at Latoya Nicole Official.
